When the words which David spoke were heard, they reported them to Saul and he sent for him.

Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.

And he turned from him toward another and spoke in the same way. And the people answered him again as at the first.

David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”
