When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were filled with terror and were greatly afraid.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Of whom were you afraid or fearful when you lied and you did not remember Me, nor give Me a thought? Have I not held My peace for a long time so that you do not fear Me?

When the Philistines heard that the Israelites were gathered together to Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the Israelites heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
