Jonathan struck the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, “Let the Hebrews hear.”

And the garrison of the Philistines had marched out to the ravine of Mikmash.

Between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over to the Philistines’ garrison, there was a sharp rock on the one side, and a sharp rock on the other side. And the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.

Jonathan said to the young man bearing his armor, “Come, and let us cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised. Perhaps the Lord will work for us, for the Lord is not limited to save by many or by few.”

And they struck the Philistines that day from Mikmash to Aijalon, and the people were very weary.

Saul chose for himself three thousand men of Israel. Two thousand were with Saul in Mikmash and in mountains of Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. The rest of the people he sent each to his tent.

Samuel said, “What have you done?” And Saul said, “Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come to the appointed assembly days, and the Philistines are gathering themselves together at Mikmash,

then Ibhar, Elishama, Eliphelet,

He has come against Aiath, he has passed through Migron; at Mikmash he has laid up his carriages.

They are gone over the pass, they have taken up their lodging at Geba. Ramah is afraid, Gibeah of Saul has fled.
