The Lord sent Jerub-Baal, Bedan, Jephthah, and Samuel. And He delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and you dwelt in safety.

So the Lord gave Israel a savior, so that they got out from under the hand of Aram. Then the Israelites dwelt in their tents as before.

Therefore on that day he called him Jerub-Baal, saying, “Let Baal fight him, for he tore down the altar of Baal.”

Then Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him got up early and set up camp at Harod Spring. There was a camp of Midianites to the north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh.

Jerub-Baal son of Joash went to his house and lived there.

and they did not keep faith with the family of Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon), for all the good he had done for Israel.

All Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was proven to be a prophet of the Lord.

So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not again come into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
