Judah and Israel had a large populace, as numerous as the sand by the sea. They ate and drank and were happy.

I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants could also be numbered.

He brought him outside and said, “Look up toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So will your descendants be.”

I will indeed bless you and I will indeed multiply your descendants as the stars of the heavens and as the sand that is on the seashore. Your descendants will possess the gate of their enemies.

You said, ‘I will surely prosper you and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which is too many to be counted.’ ”

And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, so numerous that they cannot be numbered or counted.

God gave Solomon wisdom and great depth of understanding as well as compassion, as vast as the sand on the seashore.

My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea, and I will send them by sea in floats to the place that you shall name and will cause them to be discharged into your care there, and in return you will meet my wishes by giving food for my household.”

“Do not listen to Hezekiah, for thus says the king of Assyria: ‘Submit to me; come out to me, so that every man may eat from his own vine and his own fig tree and drink water from his own cistern,

Now all these were there with David three days, eating and drinking, for their brothers had made provisions for them,

Behold, a son shall be born to you who shall be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. Solomon will be his name, and I will give peace and tranquility to Israel in his days.

While he was still speaking, another came and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house,

In the multitude of people is the glory of a king, but in the lack of subjects is the ruin of a prince.

There is nothing better for a person than to eat and drink, and make his life see the good in his labor. This I have seen is from the hand of God.

Behold, there is joy and gladness, slaying of oxen and killing of sheep, eating of meat and drinking wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.”

Then each man will sit under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one will make them afraid; for the mouth of the Lord of Hosts has spoken.

“On that day, says the Lord of Hosts, each of you will invite your companion to come and sit under the vine and under the fig tree.”

The Lord of Hosts will protect them. They will devour up and subdue them with stone slingers. And they will drink and make noise as with wine; they will be filled with blood as a bowl, saturated like the corners of the altar.

And continuing daily with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

When he brought him down, behold, they were spread out over all the land, eating, drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil which they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.
