But the rest fled into the city of Aphek, where a wall fell on twenty-seven thousand of the men who were left. And Ben-hadad fled and came into the city into an inner chamber.

The fighting spread across the land, and the people consumed by the forest were more numerous than those consumed by the sword that day.

Then Ben-hadad sent the messengers to him and said, “The gods do to me and then some if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”

Each one killed his man, and the Arameans fled with Israel pursuing them, but Ben-hadad, the king of Aram, escaped on a horse with the horsemen.

The next year Ben-hadad assembled the Arameans and went up to Aphek to fight against Israel.

They camped opposite each other for seven days, and on the seventh day, the battle was joined. The Israelites killed one hundred thousand Aramean footmen in one day.

And Micaiah said, “Behold, you will see in that day, when you go into an inner chamber to hide.”

Then they went to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, but Jehu put eighty men outside and said, “If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escapes, the one who lets him go will die in his place.”

When you get there, look for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi. Go in and make him rise from among his brothers, and bring him into an inner chamber.

Then Micaiah said, “Behold, you will see it on the day when you enter an inner chamber to hide yourself.”

Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek, and the Israelites were camping by the spring which is in Jezreel.
