And behold, a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel, saying, “Thus says the Lord: Have you seen this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand this day, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

Joab advanced the people that were with him to fight against Aram, and they retreated from before him.

When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!”

Ahab asked, “By whom?” And he said, “Thus says the Lord: By the young leaders of the provinces.” Then he said, “Who shall order the battle?” And he answered, “You.”

The prophet came to the king of Israel and said, “Go, strengthen yourself and prepare, and see what you do, for next year the king of Aram will come up against you.”

Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord: Thus says the Lord: Tomorrow about this time one measure of fine flour will be sold for one shekel, and two measures of barley for one shekel, at the gate of Samaria.”

And he said, “Pay attention all Judah, and those dwelling in Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not fear, nor be dismayed because of this great army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

It will not be necessary for you to fight in this conflict. Take your positions, stand, and observe the deliverance of the Lord for you, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be filled with terror. Tomorrow, go out before them, and the Lord will be with you.”

The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I have given them into your hand. Not a single man can stand before you.”
