Now the Lord said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he went and met him at the mount of God, and kissed him.

At the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter than all the youths who ate the portion of the king’s food.

And He had fasted for forty days and forty nights, and then He was hungry.

And He was there in the wilderness for forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts. And the angels ministered to Him.

being tempted by the devil for forty days. During those days He ate nothing. And when they were ended, He was hungry.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights. I did not eat bread or drink water because of all your sins which you committed, doing what was wicked in the sight of the Lord to provoke Him to anger.
