The word of the Lord came to him, saying,
Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the Lord it will be provided.”
After some time, the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.
“Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and live there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.”
When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongues fail for thirst, I, the Lord, will hear them, I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
