Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please get up and disguise yourself, so that you will not be recognized as the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh. Behold, there you will find Ahijah the prophet, who told me that I would be king over this people.

So Joab sent a request to Tekoa and brought from there a wise woman. He instructed her, “Act as if you are observing mourning rites. Put on mourning garments, and do not anoint yourself with oil, but act like a woman who has been mourning over the dead like this for many days.

At that time, Jeroboam’s son Abijah became sick.

Jeroboam’s wife did so and arose and went to Shiloh, to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see, for in his old age he had gone blind.

So the prophet departed and waited by the road for the king and disguised himself with ashes on his face.

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and enter into the battle, but you wear your robes.” And the king of Israel disguised himself and went into the battle.

Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into battle, but you will put on your clothes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself, and they both entered into battle.

He even made sacrifices and offered incense on the high places of the hills and under every green tree.

For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

The whole congregation of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land was subdued before them.

So Saul disguised himself, put on other clothes, and he went with two of his men. And they came to the woman by night and he said, “Please divine for me by a spirit, and bring up for me whom I will name to you.”
