Modern English Version

For the Lord will smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and He will uproot Israel from this good land, which He gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their Asherah poles, provoking the Lord to anger.

but you have sinned more than all who were before you, for you have gone and made other gods and molded images and provoked Me to anger and have cast Me behind your back.

until the Lord removed Israel from His presence as He had said by all His servants the prophets. So Israel was exiled from their land to Assyria until this day.

then I will uproot them from My land that I have given to them; and the house that I have consecrated for My name, I will throw it from before Me and set it as a proverb and taunt among the peoples.

But God will break you down forever; He will snatch you away and pluck you from your home, and uproot you from the land of the living.    Selah

but the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the unfaithful will be rooted out of it.

I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence among them until they are consumed from off the land that I gave to them and to their fathers.

The prophets of old who have been before me and before you prophesied both against many countries and against great kingdoms, of war and disaster and pestilence.

For Gaza will be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation; Ashdod will be driven out at noon, and Ekron will be uprooted.

But He answered, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.

Yes, you even raised the shrine of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, idols which you made to worship; therefore I will exile you beyond Babylon.’

The Lord will bring you and your king, which you will set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you will serve other gods, wood and stone.

But if you still do wickedly, both you and your king will be swept away.”
