As they worshipped the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, crying out,

But the people of the city were divided. Some sided with the Jews, and others with the apostles.

The following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Take courage, Paul. For as you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify at Rome.”

But the Lord said to him, “Go your way. For this man is a chosen vessel of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and their kings, and before the Israelites.

Then Ananias went his way and entered the house. Putting his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the way as you came, has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

As he went he drew near Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him.

He said, “Who are You, Lord?” The Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God,

Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for the obedience of faith among all nations for His name,

For I am speaking to you Gentiles. So then, in as much as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,

Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes, our brother,

Conscience, I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience?

If I partake with thankfulness, why am I slandered concerning that for which I give thanks?

But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor have the churches of God.

I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

For though I am free from all men, I have made myself servant to all, that I might win even more.

Do you look at things from the outward appearance? If any man trusts that he is Christ’s, let him consider again that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.

For I think I am not in any way inferior to the most eminent of the apostles.

As workers together with God, we ask you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead),

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has set us free, and be not entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you, or from others, even though we might have made demands as the apostles of Christ.

For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth in Christ and do not lie), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
