So concerning the eating of foods that are offered in sacrifice to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and an everlasting King. At His wrath the earth trembles, and the nations cannot endure His indignation.

Every man is stupid, without knowledge; every goldsmith is put to shame by an idol; for his molded image is false, and there is no breath in them.

Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.

“Men, why are you doing this? We also are men, of like nature with you, preaching to you to turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything that is in them,

but that we write to them to abstain from food offered to idols, from sexual immorality, from strangled animals, and from blood.

And you see and hear, not only at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, that this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that these things made by hands are not gods.

Now as concerning food offered to idols: We know that “we all have knowledge.” Knowledge produces arrogance, but love edifies.

For if anyone sees you, who have knowledge, eating in the idol’s temple, shall the conscience of him who is weak not be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols,

and by your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

Previously, when you did not know God, you served those who by nature are not gods.

one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

“O  Lord God, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness, and Your mighty hand, for what god is there in heaven or in earth that can do according to Your works and according to Your might?

See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no god besides Me; I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; there is no one who can deliver out of My hand.

To you it was shown so that you might know that the Lord, He is God. There is no one else besides Him.

Know therefore today, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.

Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone!

Now to the eternal, immortal, invisible King, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever. Amen.

There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
