Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.

House and wealth are the inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.

Yet you say, “Why?” It is because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously. Yet she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual unfaithfulness, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.

Escape from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man commits is outside the body. But he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

Now concerning the things about which you wrote to me: “It is good for a man not to touch a woman.”

Let the husband render to the wife due affection, and likewise the wife to the husband.

But if they cannot restrain themselves, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

In this way men ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

that each one of you should know how to possess his own body in sanctification and honor,

forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

When their fathers or their brothers come to us to complain, we will say to them, ‘Be favorable to them for our sakes, because we did not take for each man a wife in the battle, for you have not given women to them at the time, thereby making yourselves guilty.’ ”
