He answered them, “It is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master has made ruler over his household to give them food at the appointed time?

He said to them, “To you is given the secret of the kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, everything is said in parables,

just as they were handed down to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word,

The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his house servants, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

He said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but to others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

For I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, lest you be wise in your own estimation, for a partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

Now to Him who has power to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret for long ages past,

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the ages for our glory.

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, even as the Lord gave to each one?

Being slandered, we encourage. We are made as the filth of the world, and are the refuse of all things to this day.

Moreover it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.

Are they servants of Christ? I speak as a fool. I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, often facing death.

For if I desire to boast, I will not be a fool, for I will be speaking the truth. But now I resist, lest anyone should think of me above that which he sees me to be or hears from me.

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

But in all things we commend ourselves as servants of God: in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distress,

making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself,

Pray for me, that the power to speak may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

that their hearts may be comforted, being knit together in love, and receive all the riches and assurance of full understanding, and knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,

while praying also for us, that God would open to us a door of utterance to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,

Without question, great is the mystery of godliness: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up into glory.

He must not be newly converted, so that he does not become prideful and fall into the condemnation of the devil.

keeping the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

For an overseer must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not easily angered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain,

As everyone has received a gift, even so serve one another with it, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
