Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

When they came down, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit,

to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

Do all have the gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

So, seeing that you are zealous concerning spiritual gifts, seek that you may excel in the edifying of the church.

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unproductive.

How is it then, brothers? When you come together, every one of you has a psalm, a teaching, a tongue, a revelation, and an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.
