1 Chronicles 28:4

Modern English Version

“Still, the Lord God of Israel chose me from all my father’s house to be king over Israel forever, for He chose Judah as leader, and in the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father, He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

So all of the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them before the Lord at Hebron. They anointed David king over Israel.

“And now, Lord, the word which You have spoken concerning Your servant and concerning his house, let it endure forever and do just as You have spoken.

Then the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah, saying, “Is David not hiding himself on the hill of Hakilah, which is before Jeshimon?”
