The king made pillars for the house of the Lord out of the almug trees and harps also and psalteries for singers for the king’s house. Never before had such almug wood been brought, nor has any such been seen to this day.

So they entered Jerusalem with harps, lyres, and trumpets to the house of the Lord.

According to the ruling of David his father, he set the divisions of the priests for their service, and the Levites for their function to praise and serve before the priests according to the daily duty, and even the gatekeepers for their divisions at each gate, for this was the commandment of David the man of God.

Some of the Israelites, along with some of the priests, and the Levites, the singers, the porters, and the temple servants, went up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes.

So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel lived in their cities. When the seventh month came, the Israelites were in their cities.

The singers and the players of instruments say, “All my springs are in you.”

Your holy cities are a wilderness; Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

who sing to the sound of the harp and invent musical instruments for themselves like David;
