Now when Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing in front of him with his sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said, “Are You for us, or for our enemies?”
He said, “Neither, for I am the commander of the army of the Lord. Now I have come.” Then Joshua fell with his face to the ground and worshipped. Then he said, “What does my Lord wish to say to His servant?”
Therefore rise up early in the morning with your master’s servants who have come with you. And when you have risen early in the morning and it is light, then depart.”
Now when David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had raided the south as far as Ziklag. They had struck Ziklag and burned it with fire.
