Numbers 32:31

Matthew's Bible 1537

And the children of Gad & Ruben answered saying: that whych the Lord hath sayd vnto thy seruauntes we wyl do.

but & yf they wyll not go ouer wyth you in harnesse, then they shall haue their possessyons among you in the land of Canaan.

We wyl go harnessed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, and the possessyon of our enheritaunce shalbe on thys syde Iordan.

Ruben shall lyue and shall not dye: but his people shalbe fewe in numbre.

And they aunswered Iosua sayinge: All that thou byddest vs, we wyll do, and whether soeuer thou sendest vs, we wyll go.
