And Iesus went out and sawe muche people, and had compassion on them, because they were lyke shepe, whyche had no shepeherd. And he beganne to teache them many thinges.
Then he sayde: I sawe all Israell scattered vpon the hylles, as shepe that haue no shepardes. And the Lorde sayde: those haue no mayster, let them returne, euery man to hys house in peace.
For vayne is the answere of Idols. The sothsayers se lyes, & tel but vayn dreames: the comforthe that they geue, is nothinge worth. Therfore go they astraye lyke a flocke of shepe, & are troubled, because they haue no sheperde.
& sayd vnto them. I am an hundred & .xx. yeare thys day, & can no more go out & in. Also the Lorde hath sayd vnto me, thou shalt not go ouer thys Iordan.
And now Lord, my God, it is thou that hast made thy seruaunt kynge in steade of Dauid my father. And I am a young lad & wote not how to order my selfe.
Arise, O thou swerd, vpon my shepeherd, & vpon the prince of my people sayeth the lorde of hostes. Smite the sheperd, & the shepe shal be scatred abroade, & so wil I turne mine hand to the litle ones.
Then he sayd: I se al Israel skatered in the mountaines, as shepe that haue no shepard. And the Lorde sayde: these haue no mayster, let them returne euery man to his house in peace.
And therto in tyme paste when Saul was kyng ouer vs, thou leddest Israel in and oute. And the Lord hath sayd to the: thou shalt fede my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captayne ouer Israel.
and shal compase the kynge round aboute, euery man wyth his wepen in his hand. And whosoeuer cometh within the ranges shal dye for it. And se that ye be with the kinge as he goeth oute and in.
