For the Lord sayed vnto them, that they should dye in the wildernes and that there should not be lefte a man of them: saue Caleb the sonne of Iephune & Iosua the sonne of Nun.
Beholde the kyndnes and rigorousnes of God on them which fell, rygorousnes: but towardes the kyndnes, yf thou contynue in hys kyndnes. Or els thou shalte be hewen of,
I the Lorde haue sayed that I wyll do it vnto all thys euyll congregacyon that are gethered together agaynst me: euen in thys wyldernesse ye shalbe consumed, and here ye shal dye.
My mynd is therfore to put you in remembraunce, for as muche as ye ones knowe this, how that the Lord (after that he had deliuered the people out of Egypt) destroyed them which afterwarde beleued not.
our father dyed in the wyldernesse, & was not amonge the companye of theim that gathered them selues togyther agaynst the Lord in the congregation of Corah: But dyed in hys owne synne, and had no sonnes.
saue Caleb the sonne of Iephune, he shall se it, and to hym wyl I geue the land which he hath walked in and to his chyldren, because he hath contynually folowed the Lorde.
And thys is the cause why Iosua cyrcumcysed. All the people that came out of Egypte that were males, all that were men of warre, dyed in the wyldernes by the waye after they came oute of Egypte.
