The Lorde is not a man, that he can lye, neither the sonne of man that he can repente: should he saye and not do, or shoulde he speake and not make it good?

And therto he that geueth victorye to Israel, wyl not begyle nor repente: for he is not a man, that can repent.

Euery good gyfte, and euerye perfecte gyfte, is from aboue and commeth doune from the father of lyght wyth whome is no varyablenes, neyther is he chaunged vnto darkenes.

For I am the lord that chaunge not, and ye (O children of Iacob) wyll not leaue of:

that by two immutable thynges (in which it was vnpossyble that GOD shaulde lye) we myghte haue perfecte consolacyon, whiche haue fled, for to holde faste the hope that is set before vs,

vpon the hope, of eternall lyfe, whiche lyfe God that can not lye, hath promysed before the worlde beganne:

For verelye the giftes and callyng of god are suche, that it cannot repente hym of them,

Heauen and earth shall passe: but my wordes shall not passe.

for the vysyon is yet farre of for a tyme, but at the last it shal come to passe & not fayle. And thoughe he tarye, yet wayte thou for hym, for in very dede he wyll come, & not be slacke

I haue sworne once by my holinesse, that I will not fayle Dauid.

therfore haue I not turned me to destroye Ephraim in my wrothfull displeasure. For I am God and no man, I am euen that holy one in the middest of the, thoughe I came not within the cyty.

Thou shalt kepe thy truste wyth Iacob, and thy mercye for Abraham, lyke as thou haste sworne vnto oure fathers longe agoo.

And yet this semed littell in thyne eyes O god. But that thou shouldest speake of thy seruauntes house for a great whyle to come: and hast loked vpon my as vpon a man of hye degre O Lorde God.

I speake not these thinges as though the wordes of God had taken none effect. For they are not al Israelites whiche came of Israell,

Yf we beleue not yet abydeth he faythfull. He can not deny hym selfe.

(those pryestes were made wythout an othe, but thys prieste wyth an othe, by hym that layed vnto hym. The Lorde sware, and wyl not repente: Thou arte a prieste for euer after the order of Melchisedech)

Eyther do ye thynke that the scrypture sayeth in vayne. The spyryte that dwelleth in you lusteth euen contrarye to enuye:

And se I am wyth the, and wyll be thy keper in all places whyther thou goest, and wyll brynge the agayne into thys land: neither wyll I leaue the vntyll I haue made good all that I haue promised the.

I the Lorde haue sayed that I wyll do it vnto all thys euyll congregacyon that are gethered together agaynst me: euen in thys wyldernesse ye shalbe consumed, and here ye shal dye.

And he toke vp hys parable and said: rise vp Balac and heare, & herken vnto me thou sonne of Ziphor.

My couenaunt wyl I not breake, nor disanulle the thynge that is gone out of my lippes.

The Lorde sware, and wyll not repente: Thou arte a priest for euer after the order of Melchisedec.

And the remnaunte of the good Arthers of Cedar, shalbe very fewe: For the Lorde God of Israel hath spoken it.

Where as he neuertheles plageth the wicked, and yet goeth not from hys word when he steppeth forthe, and taketh the victory agaynste the housholde of the frowarde, & agaynste the helpe of euyll doars.

Neuerthelesse whether the grasse wyther, or the floure fade awaye: Yet the worde of oure God endureth for euer. Moreouer the voyce cried thus:

I call a byrde out of the East, & all that I take in hande, out of farre countrees, as soone as I commaunde, I brynge it hether: as soone as I thyncke to deuyse a thynge, I do it.

So the worde also that commeth oute of my mouthe shall not turne agayne voyde vnto me, but shall accomplysh my wil & prospere in the thinge, whereto I sende it.

And therfore let the earth mourne and let the heauen be sory aboue: for the thing that I haue purposed and taken vpon me to do, shall not repente me, and I wil not go from it.

All these thynges touche the kynge Nabuchodonosor.

soiourne in thys lande, and I wyll be wyth the, and wyll blesse the: for vnto the, and vnto thy seed, I wil giue al these contryes. And I wyl perfourme the oth which I sware vnto Abraham thy father,

There skaped nothynge of all the good thinges, whyche the Lorde had sayde vnto the house of Israell. But all came to passe.

In that day I wyll performe to Eli, al that I haue spoken concernyng hys house: I wil begynne it & ende it.

And whosoeuer of Ieroboams house dye in the toune, hym shall the dogges eate, and hym that dyeth in the felde, shall the foules of the ayre eate: for the Lorde hath sayde it,

Then a great Lorde on whose hande the kyng leaned, aunswered the man of God and sayde, though the Lorde woulde make wyndowes in heauen, yet wolde not thys be. And he sayde agayne: Behold, thou shalt se it with thyne eyes and shalte not eate thereof.

This is the sayinge that the Lord spake vnto Iehu, sayinge: thy sonnes shall syt on the seate of Israell in the fourth generacyon. And it came so to passe.

Hath the Lord forgotten to be gracyous? Or, hath he shut vp hys louynge kyndnes in dyspleasure? Selah.

The Lord hath made a faythful ooth vnto Dauyd, and he shall not shrynke from it Of the frute of thy body shal I set vpon thy seate.
