And Balam sayed vnto the aungell of the Lorde: I haue synned for I wist not that thou stodest in the wai against me. Now therfore if it displease thine eyes, I wyl turne agayne.
Then sayde Dauid vnto Nathan: I haue synned agaynst the Lorde. And Nathan sayde agayne to Dauid: the Lorde hath put awaye thy synne, thou shalt not dye.
Then sayde Saul to Samuel: I haue sinned, for I haue trespaced the mouthe of the Lorde, and thy wordes, because I feared the people and obeyed theyr voyce.
Then said Saul: I haue synned, come agayn my sonne Dauid, for I will do the no more harme, because my soul was preciouse in thine eyes this daye. Beholde, I haue played the fole & haue erred exceding muche.
Then he sayd: I haue synned. But yet honoure me before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turne agayne wyth me, that I maye praye vnto the Lorde thy God.
And they rose vp yerly in the mornyuge & gatt them vp into the toppe of the mountayne sayinge: lo we be here, & wyll go vp vnto the place of which the Lorde sayed, for we haue synned.
And the people complayned & it displeased the eares of the Lorde. And when the lord heard it he was wroth, and the fyre of the Lorde burnt amonge them and consumed the vttermost of the hoste.
