And they fel vpon theyr faces and sayd O most myghty God of the spirites of al fleshe, one man hath sinned, and wilt thou be wroth with al the multitude?
The heauy burthen which the lord hath deuised for Israel. Thus saieth the lord, which spred the heauens abroade, layde the foundacyon of the earth, and geueth man the breath of lyfe:
Moreouer seynge we had fathers of oure fleshe whiche corrected vs, and we gaue them reuerence: shoulde we not muche rather be in subieccyon vnto the father of spyrytuall gyftes, that we myght lyue?
Lykewyse then as by the synne of one, condemnacion came on al men: euen so by the iustifiyng of one commeth the ryghtuousnes that bryngeth lyfe vpon al men.
Then spake Dauid vnto the Lorde, when he sawe the Aungel that smote the people, and sayde: lo, it is I that haue synned, and I that haue done wickedly. But these shepe what haue they done? let I praye the thyne hande be on me, and on my fathers house.
And he sayde: O let not my Lorde be angrye, that I speake yet, but euen once more oulye. What yf ten be found there? And he sayde: I wyll not destroy them for .x. sake.
If the prieste that is anointed sinne, & make the people do amysse, he shall brynge for hys syn which he hath done: an oxe wythout blemysh vnto the Lord for a syn offeryng.
And Moses said vnto Aaron & vnto Eleazar & Ithamar his eldest sonnes: vncouer not your heades, neither rent your clothes, lest ye dye and wrath come vpon all the people, let your brethren the whole house of Israell bewepe the burnynge whyche the Lorde hathe burnt.
But that ye also shoulde turne awaye this daye from folowing the Lorde: ye shall rebelle to daye agaynste the Lorde, and to morow he shall be wroth wyth all the congregacyon.
So the king swore an oth secretly vnto Ieremye, sayinge: As truely as the Lorde lyueth, that made vs these soules, I wil not slay the, nor geue the into the handes of them that seke after thy lyfe.
