Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: For so muche as thou hast forgotten me, & cast me aside, so beare now thyne owne fylthynesse & whordome.

And the Lord was angry wyth Israel, & made them wandre in the wyldernesse .xl. yere, vntyl al the generacion that had done euel in the syghte of the Lord were consumed.

Though he suffre them to be euell intreated thorow tyrauntes, or lette them wandre out of the waye in the wildernesse.

The space in whyche we came from Cades barne vntyll we were come ouer the ryuer Zared was .xxxviij. yeres: vntyll all the generacion of the men of warre were wasted out of the host as the Lord sware vnto them.

Do not thou tryumphe, O Israel, make no boastinge more then the Heathen, for thou hast committed aduoutrye againste thy God: straung rewardes hast thou loued more then al the corneflores.

They went astraye in the wildernesse in an vntroden waye, and founde no cytye too dwell in.

And now behold, the Lord hath kepte me lusty (as he sayd) this fourtye and fyue yeares, euen sence the Lorde spake vnto vnto Moses, whyle the chyldren of Israell wanderyd in the wyldernesse. And now se I am thys daye foure skore and fyue yeres,

And it fortuned the fyrst daye of the .xi. moneth in the fortieth yere that Moses spake vnto the chyldren of Israel accordinge vnto all that the Lorde hade geuen him in commaundement vnto them

And Aaron the Preast went vp into mount Hor at the commaundement of the Lord and dyed there, euen in the fortieth yere, after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, and in the fyrst day of the fyft moneth.

And the same brought them out shewing woundres and signes in Egypte, & in the red sea, and in the wildernes .xl. yeares.

Se that thou neither bowe thy self vnto them neither serue them: for I the Lord thy God, am a gelouse God, & viset the synne of the fathers vppon the chyldren vnto the thyrd and fourth generacion of them that hate me:

For the Lord thy God hath blessed the in al the workes of thyne hand & knewe the as thou wentest thorowe thys great wyldernesse. Moreouer the Lorde thy God hath bene wt the this .xl. yeres, so that thou hast lacked nothyng.

And thinke on all the waye whych the lord thy God ledde the this .xl. yere in the wildernesse, for to humble the and to proue the, to wete what was in in thyne herte, whether thou wouldest kepe his commaundements or no,

Thy raiment waxed not old vpon the neither did thy fete swell this .xl. yere.

And I haue led you .xl. yere in the wyldernesse: & youre clothes are not waxed olde vpon you, nor thy shooes are waxed old vpon thy fete.

For the chyldren of Israell walked fourthye yeares in the wildernesse, till all the people of men of warre that came out of Egypt were consumed which harkened not vnto the voyce of God, so that the Lorde sware, that he wold not shew them the lande whiche the Lorde sware vnto theyr fathers, that he wolde geue vs, euen a lande that floweth wyth mylke & honye.

Therfore their dayes were consumed in vanyte, and sodenly their yeares were gone.
