ye eate the flesh of my people, and slay of their skynne: ye breake their bones, ye choppe them in peces as it were in to a cauldron, and as flesh into a pot.

How can they haue vnderstandinge, that worke mischiefe, eatynge vp my people, as it were bread, & call not vpon the Lord?

sayinge: tushe, there is no destruccyon at hande, let vs buylde houses: thys Ierusalem is the cauldron, & we be the fleshe.

This peoples teth are swerdes, and with their chafte bones they consume and deuour the simple of the earth, and the poore from among men.

Wherfore do ye oppresse my people, and marre the faces of the innocentes? thus shall the God of Hostes reuyle them.

Heare this, O ye that oppresse the poore, and destroye the nedy in the lande, saying:
