But when thou prayest, entre into thy chamber, & shut thy dore to the, & praie to thi father which is in secrete: & thy father which seeth in secrete, shall rewarde the openlye.

Euen I the Lorde search out the grounde of the herte, & trye the reynes, and rewarde euery man accordinge to hys wayes, and acordynge to the fruyte of his councels.

Should not God fynde it out? for he knoweth the very secretes of the herte.

Nothinge in secrete, that shall not come abrode: Neyther any thynge hyd that shall not be knowen, and come to light.

Wherfore the Lorde God of Israel sayth: I sayde that thyne house and the house of thy father shulde haue walked before me for euer. But now the Lorde sayth: that be farre from me: for them that worshyppe me, I wyll worshyp, & they that despyse me, shalbe despised.

Vnto hym that is able to kepe you, that ye fal not, and to preserue you fautles before the presence of hys glorye wyth ioye,

neyther is there anye creature inuisible in the syght of him. For all thinges are naked and bare vnto the eyes of him, of whom we speake.

And whosoeuer shall geue vnto one of these lytle ones to drinke, a cuppe of colde water only, in the name of a discypell: I tell you of a truthe, he shall not lose his rewarde.

Yea, the darkenesse is no darkenesse with the, but the nyght is as cleare as the day, the darkenesse and light are both a lyke.

And I will kyl her chyldren wyth death. And all the congregacions shal know, that I am he, whiche searched the reynes and hertes. And I will geue vnto euery one of you according vnto youre workes.

Therfore iudge nothinge before the tyme vntill the Lorde come, who wyll lyghten thinges, that are hyd in darckenes, and open the counsels of the hertes. And then shall euery man haue praise of God.

Thou hast proued & visited myne herte in the night season: thou hast tryed me in the fyre: & hast founde no wickednes in me: for I vtterly purposed that my mouthe shoulde not offende.

for so shalt thou heape coles of fyre vpon his head, and the Lord shal reward the.

But when thou doest thine almes, let not thy lyft hande knowe what thy ryght hande doth,
