Let your conuersacyon be wythoute couetuousnes, and be content wyth that ye haue alreadye. For he verelye sayed: I wyll not fayle the, neyther forsake the:

So is it with hym that gathereth ryches, and is not ryche in God.

To haue wysdome in possesstion is better then gold, & to get vnderstanding is more worth then siluer.

Riches helpe not in the day of vengeaunce, but rightuousnes deliuereth from death.

When Iesus hearde that, he sayed vnto hym. Yet lackeste thou one thynge. Sell all that thou haste, and distrybute it vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, & folowe me.

Charge them that are ryche in this worlde shal they be not exceadyng wyse, and that they truste not in the vncertayne ryches, but in the lyuyng God, which geueth vs aboundauntly al thynges to enioy them,

Sell that ye haue, and geue almes. And make you bagges whiche were not old, and treasure that faileth not in heauen, where no these cometh, neyther mothe corrupteth.

Nether theyr syluer nor theyr golde shalbe able to delyuered them in the wrothfull daye of the Lorde, but the whole lande shalbe consumed thorow the fyre of his gelousy: for he shall soone make cleane ryddaunce of all them that dwell in the lande.

When Iesus sawe hym morne, he sayed: with what difficultye shall they that haue ryches, enter into the kyngedome of God:

O trust not in wronge and robbery, geue not youre selues vnto vanitye: if ryches encrease, set not your herte vpon them.

Yea euery man walketh as it were a shadow, and disquieth him selfe in vayne: he heapeth vp ryches, and can not tell to whome he gathereth them.

And Iesus sayde vnto him, if thou wilt be perfecte go and sell that thou haste, and geue it to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come and folowe me.

Haue I put my truste in goulde? Or haue I sayde to the fynest gould of all: thou art my confidence?

he geueth vnto man, what it pleaseth him: whether it be wysdome, vnderstandyng, or gladnesse. But vnto the sinner he geueth werines and sorow that he may gather and heape togather the thing that afterward shalbe geuen vnto him whom it pleaseth God. This is now a vayne thynge yea a very disquietnes and vexacion of mind

If a thefe be founde breakynge vp & be smytten that he dye, there shal no bloude be shed for hym:

In the nighte ceason they searche the houses, and hyd them selues in the day tyme, but wyll not knowe the light.

But gather ye treasure together in heauen, where neither rust nor mothes corrupt, & where theues neyther breake vp nor yet steale.

Thys vnderstande, that yf the good man of the house knewe what houre that these would come, he woulde surely watche, and not suffer hys house to be broken vp.
