Euen he that hath innocent handes and a cleane hert: which lifteth not vp his minde vnto vanite, and sweareth not to disceaue.

Make me a cleane hert, O God, & renue a right sprete within me.

let vs draw nye wyth a true herte in a full fayth, sprynkeled in our hertes from an euyl conscyence, and washed in our bodyes wyth pure water,

Embrace peace wt all men and holynes, wythout the whiche no man shall se the Lorde.

But the wysedome that is from aboue, is fyrste pure, then peasable, gentle, and easye to be entreated, full of mercye & good frutes, wythoute iudgynge, and wythout simulacyon:

Vnto the pure are all thynges pure, but vnto them that are defyled and vnbeleuynge, is nothynge pure: but euen the very myndes and consciences of them are defyled.

Euen he that leadeth an vncorrupt life: that doth the thing which is right, and that speaketh the trueth from hys hert.

and he put no difference betwene them and vs, but with fayth purified theyr hertes.

A Psalme of Asaph. O how louyng is God vnto Israel, to suche as are of a cleane hert?

Howe muche more shall the bloude of Christe (which thorow the eternall spyryte offred hym selfe without spot to God) pourge youre conscyences from dead workes, for to serue the lyuyng God?

Seynge that we haue such promyses dearely beloued, let vs cleanse oure selues from al fylthynesse of the fleshe & spyrite, and grow vp to full holynesse in the feare of God.

With the cleane thou shalt be cleane, and with the frowarde thou shalte be frowarde.

Nowe we se in a glasse euen in a darke speakinge, but then shall we se face to face. Nowe I knowe vnperfectlye, but then shall I knowe euen as I am knowen.

And shall se his face, & hys name shall be in theyr foreheades.

And Iacob called the name of that place Pheniel for I haue sene God face to face, & yet is my life reserued.

But lo, thou hast a pleasure in the trueth, and hast shewed me secrete wisdome.

Wyth the pure thou shalte be pure, and wyth the froward thou shalt be froward also.
