He humbled the and made the hongry and fedde the with Manna, whych neyther thou nor thy father knew of to make the know that a man must not lyue by breade onely: but by all that proceadeth out of the mouth of the Lord must a man liue.

And Iesus aunswered hym saiynge: It is written, man shall not lyue by bread onlye, but of euerye worde of God.

It is the spirite that quickeneth, the flesh proffetteth nothing. The wordes that I speake vnto you, are spirite and lyfe.

Whatsoeuer thynges are wrytten afore tyme, are wrytten for oure learnyng, that we thorowe pacyence and comforte of the scrypture myght haue hope.

And take the helmet of saluacion and the swerd of the spyrite, which is the word of God.

When the children of Israel sawe it they sayde one to another: what is this? For they wyst not what it was. And Moses sayd: this is the bread which the Lord hath geuen you to eate.

Iesus aunswered him and sayde. Hence from me Sathan. For it is written: Thou shall honoure the Lord thy God and him onlye serue.

And moreouer spake Moses. At euen the Lord wil geue you flesh to eate, and in the mornynge bread ynough, because the Lord hath hearde youre murmure which ye murmur against him: for what are we? your murmuryng is not agaynst vs, but agaynst the Lorde.

Then sayd Iesus vnto him. Auoide sathan. For it is wrytten, thou shalt worshippe the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serue.

And Iesus said to him, it is written also: Thou shalt not tempt thy lord God.

Iesus aunswered and sayde to hym, it is sayde: Thou shalt not tempt the Lorde thy God.

Thou shalt kepe the feaste of swete bread that thou eate vnleuened bread .vij. dayes longe, as I commaunded the in the tyme appoynted of the moneth of Abyb, for in that moneth thou camest out of Egypte: and se that no man apeare before me emptye.

That whych goeth into the mouth, defileth not the man: but that whych commeth out of the mouthe, defileth the man.

And he sayde that defileth a man, whiche cometh out of a man.

But when the comforter is come, whome I will sende vnto you from the father, which is the spirite of truth, which proceadeth of the father, he shall testify of me.
