Of this be sure, that if the good man of the house knewe what houre the these woulde come, he would suerlye watche, and not suffer his house to be broken vp.

Thys vnderstande, that yf the good man of the house knewe what houre that these would come, he woulde surely watche, and not suffer hys house to be broken vp.

Therfore be ye also redye, for in the houre ye thinke he woulde not, wyll the sonne of man come.

And when they had receyued it, they murmured agaynst the good man of the house

For the good man is not at home, he is gone farre of.

Wake therfor, because ye knowe not what houre your maister wyl come.

watche therfore: for ye knowe neither the daye nor yet the houre when the sonne of man shall come.

and he sawe them troubled in rowing, for the winde was contrary vnto them. And about the fourth quarter of the night he came vnto them walking vpon the sea, and woulde haue passed by them.

Watche therfore, for ye knowe not when the mayster of the house wyll come: whether at euen, or at mydnyght: whether at the cocke crowynge or in the dawnynge,

And yf he come in the seconde watche, yea yf he come in the thyrd watche, and shal fynd them so: happye are those seruauntes.

Watche therfore contynuallye and praye, that ye may obtayne grace to flye all this that shal come, and that ye may stande before the sonne of man.

Remember therfore howe thou hast receiued and hearde, and hold faste & repent. Yf thou shalt not watche, I wyl come on the as a thiefe, and thou shalt not knowe, what hour I wil come vpon the.

Beholde I come as a thefe. Happye is he that watcheth & kepeth his garmentes, least he be founde naked, and men se hys filthynes.

In the nighte ceason they searche the houses, and hyd them selues in the day tyme, but wyll not knowe the light.
