And when the tyme of the frute drewe neare, he sente hys seruauntes to the husbandmen to receyue the fruytes of it.

What more coulde haue bene done for it, that I haue not done? Wherfore then hath it geuen thornes, where I loked to haue had grapes of it?

and sent forth hys seruauntes to call them that were byd to the wedding, & they woulde not come.

Yea, I haue sent my seruauntes, al the prophetes vnto you, I rose vp early, and sent you worde, sayinge: O turne you, euery man from his wicked waye: amende your lyues, and go not after straunge Goddes, to worshyppe them, that ye may contynue in the land which I haue geuen vnto you & your fathers but ye would neither heare me, nor folow me.

And the husbandmen caughte hys seruauntes and bet one, kylled another, and stoned another.

But when the husbandmen sawe the sonne, they sayde amonge them selues. Thys is the heyre: come let vs kyll hym, and let vs take hys enheritaunce to oure selues.

When the Lorde of the vyneyard cometh, what wyll he do with those husbandmen?

They sayed vnto hym: he wyll cruellye destroye those euyll persons, and wyll let out hys vyneyarde vnto other husbandmen, which shall delyuer hym the frute at tymes conuenient.

And he began to speake vnto them in simylitudes. A certayne man planted a vyneyarde, and compaste it wyth an hedge, and ordeyned a wyne presse, & buylde a tower in it. And let it oute to hyre vnto housband men, & went into a straunge countreye.

But the tenauntes sayed amonge them selues: thys is the heyre: come let vs kyll hym, and the enheritaunce shall be ours.

What shall then the Lorde of the vyneyarde do? He wyll come and destroye the tenauntes, and let oute the vynearde to other.

Then beganne he to put forthe to the people, thys similitude. A certayne man planted a vineyarde, and let it forthe to fermers, and went hym selfe into a straunge countre for a greate season.
