Then the men when they had sene the miracle that Iesus did, saide: this is of a truthe the prophete that shoulde come into the worlde.

Manye of the people, when they hearde that saiynge sayed: of a truthe this is a Prophete,

And there came a feare on them all. And they glorifyed God saiynge: a greate Prophete is rysen among vs, and God hath visyted his people.

This is that Moises which said vnto the children of Israell: A Prophet shall the Lorde your God rayse vp vnto you of youre brethren, lyke vnto me, him shal ye heare.

Then spake they vnto the blynde agayne. What saiest thou of hym, because he hath opened thyne eyes? And he sayed: He is a Prophete.

& went & dwelt in a citie called Nazareth, to fulfyl that which was spoken by the prophetes: he shalbe called a Nazarite.

The woman sayd vnto him: Syr I perceiue that thou art a prophete.

And they axed hym: what then? Art thou Helias? And he sayed: I am not. Art thou a Prophete? And he aunswered no.

Other sayde: it is Helyas: and some sayde: it is a Prophet: or as one of the Prophetes.

To whom he sayde: what thinges? And they sayde vnto him: of Iesus of Nazareth which was a Prophete, mighty in dede and worde before God, and all the people.

And they axed him: and sayd vnto him: why baptysest thou then if thou be not Christ, nor Helias, neyther a Prophete?

Neuertheles, I must walke to daye and to morowe and the daye folowynge. For it can not be, that a prophet perysh any other wher, saue at Hierusalem

When the pharysey which bade him, sawe that he speake within him selfe saiyng. If this man were a Prophete, he woulde surely haue knowen who and what maner woman this is which toucheth him, for she is a synner.

And when he was come into Ierusalem all the cytye was moued sayinge: who is thys?

But and yf we shall saye of men, then feare we the people. For all men helde Iohn as a Prophete.

And they wente aboute to laye handes on hym, but they feared the people, because they toke hym as a Prophete.
