and was there vnto the death of Herode to fulfyll that whiche was spoken of the Lord by the prophete, which saieth out of Egipt haue I called my sonne.

When Israel was younge, I loued him: & called him my sonne out of the lande of Egipte.

And tel Pharao, thus sayeth the Lorde: Israel is myne eldest sonne,

God that brought him out of Egipt his strength is as the strengthe of an vnicorne, & he shal eate the nations that are hys enemies & breake theyr bones, and perce them thorowe wyth hys arrowes.

And he sayde vnto them: These are the wordes which I spake vnto you, whyle I was yet with you: that al muste be fulfilled which was written of me in lawe of Moyses and in the prophetes and in the Psalmes.

All thys was done to fulfyll that whyche was spoken of the Lorde by the Prophet, saiynge:

But how then shoulde the scriptures be fulfylled: for so must it be.

All this was done, to fulfill that whiche was spoken by the Prophet saying:

to fulfyll that which was spoken by Esaias the prophete sayinge. He toke on him oure infyrmyteis, & beare oure sycknesses.

& went & dwelt in a citie called Nazareth, to fulfyl that which was spoken by the prophetes: he shalbe called a Nazarite.

When Herode was dead: beholde, an aungel of the Lorde appeared in a dreame to Iosephe in Egip

Then was fulfylled that which was spoken by the prophete Ieremy sayinge:

These thynges were done, that the scripture shoulde be fulfylled: Ye shall not breake a bone of hym.

After that when Iesus perceyued that all thynges were perfourmed, that the scrypture myght be fulfylled, he sayed: I thyrst.

Al this was done that the scriptures of the Prophetes myght be fulfylled.

Ye men and brethren this scripture muste haue nedes ben fulfilled, which the holy ghost through the mouth of Dauid spake before of Iudas, whiche was gyde to them that toke Iesus.

When they had crucifyed hym: they parted his garmentes, and did cast lottes, to fulfyll that was spoken by the prophete. They deuided my garmentes amonge them, and vpon my vesture dyd cast lottes.

Then he arose and toke the chylde and his mother by night and departed into Egypte,
