and went into the house, and found the chylde with Mary his mother, and kneled doune & worshypped him, and opened their treasures and offred to him giftes golde, frankinsence and myrre.

The multitude of Camels shall couer the, the dromedaries of Madian and Epha. Al they of Saba shal come, bringinge golde and incense, and shewinge the prayse of the Lorde.

The kynges of the sea & of the Iles shall bringe presentes, the kynges of Araby and Saba shall offre gyftes.

And they came with haste: and founde Mary and Ioseph and the babe layed in a maunger.

sayinge. Where is he that is borne kinge of Iewes? We haue sene his star in the east, and are come to worshyppe hym.

O come, let vs worshippe & bowe doune our selfes: Let vs knele before the Lord our maker.

Then they that were in the ship came & worshipped him sayng: of a truth thou art the sonne of God.

And when he had taken the boke, the .iiij. beastes, and .xxiiij. elders fel doune before the lambe, hauinge harpes and golden vialles full of odoures, whyche are the prayers of saynctes,

And the same came forth that same houre and praysed the Lorde and spake of him to all that loked for redempcion in Ierusalem.

But the children of vnthryftynesse sayde: how shall he saue vs? and despysed him & brought hym not presentes. And he made as though he had not hearde it.

And the .xij. golden spones whych were full of cens, contayned ten sycles a pece of the holy sycle: so that all the golde of the spones, was an hundred and .xx. sycles.

and one of them shall take his hand ful of the floure of the meat offeryng & of the oyle wyth al the frankencens whych is theron, & shall burne it vnto a remembraunce vpon the aultare to be a swete sauoure of the memoriall of it vnto the Lorde.

And the Lorde sayd vnto Moses: take vnto the swete spices: stacte, onycha, swete galbanum and pure frankencens, of etche lyke much:

Than their father Israel sayd vnto them: Yf it must nedes be so now: than do thus, take of the best frutes of the lande in your vesselles, and brynge the man a present, a curtesye of bawlme, and a curtesy of hony, spices and myrre, dates & almondes.

For from the rysynge vp of the sunne vnto the goynge doune of the same, my name is greate amonge the Gentyles: yea, in euery place shall there sacryfice be done, & a cleane meatoffering offered vp vnto my name: for my name is great among the heathen, sayeth the Lorde of hostes.

All thy garmentes are lyke myrre, Aloes & Cassia, when thou commest out of thine yuerye palaces in thy beutifull glory.

Kysse the sonne, lest the Lorde be angrye and so ye peryshe from the ryght way. For his wrath shalbe kindled shortly: blessed are all they that put their trust in hym.

And she gaue the kynge an hundred and .xx. talentes of gould, and of swete odours excedinge moche, & precyouse stones There came neuer after such aboundaunce of swete odours as the quene of Saba gaue to kyng Salomon.

take principall spices: of pure myrre fyue hundred sycles, of swete cynamon halfe so much two hundred and fiftye sycles:

Who is thys that commeth out of the wildernesse lyke pylers of smoke as it were a smell of Myrre, franckencence and al maner spyces of the Apotecary?

The byrth of Iesus Christe was ou thys wise. When hys mother Mary was betrouthed to Ioseph, before they came to dwell together, she was founde with chylde by the holye Ghost.

When they sawe the starre, they were maruelously glad:

Whyle he yet talked to the people: beholde his mother and his brethren stode without, desyrynge to speake with hym.

And there came also Nicodemus whiche at the begynnyng came to Iesus by nyght, and broughte of myrre & aloes myngled together aboute an hundred pounde wayght.
