For the sonne of man is come to seke, and to saue that which was loste.

Howe thynke ye? If a man haue an hundred shepe, & one of them be gone astray, doth he not leaue nynty and nyne in the mountaynes, and go & seke that one whych is gone astraye.

When Iesus heard that he sayed vnto them: The whole neade not the Phisicion, but they that are sicke.

But go rather to the lost shepe of the house of Israel.

He aunswered, and saide: I am not sent, but vnto the lost shepe of the house of Israel.

The sonne of man is not come to destroye mennes lyues, but to saue them. And they wente to another toune.

for thys my sonne was dead, and is alyue agayne, he was lost and is nowe founde. And they beganne to be mery.

It was mete that we shoulde make merye, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is aliue again and was loste, and is founde.

For God sent not his sonne into the world, to condempne the worlde: but that the world through him, might be saued.

The thefe cometh not, but for to steale, kyll, and destroye. I am come, that they might haue lyfe, and haue it more aboundauntlye.

And yf anye man heare my wordes, & beleue not, I iudge him not. For I came not to iudge the worlde, but to saue the worlde.

Thys is a true saiynge and by all meanes worthy to be receyued, that Christ Iesus came into the worlde to saue synners, of whom I am chiefe.
