And I saye also vnto the that thou arte Peeter: and vpon thys rocke I wil buylde my congregacion. And the gates of hell shall not preuayle against it.

Therfore sayth the Lorde God: Beholde, I wyll laye a stone in Syon a great stone, a costly corner stone for a sure foundacyon: that who so putteth hys truste in hym, shall not be confounded.

And he is the head of the body, that is to wyt of the congregation: he is the beginning and fyrst begotten of the dead, that in all thinges he might haue the preeminence.

and brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him and saide: thou art Simon the sonne of Ionas, thou shalt be called Cephas: which is by interpretacion, a stone.

Wherfore yf we receyue a kingdom which is not moued, we haue grace, wherby we may serue God, and please hym wyth reuerence & Godly feare.

praisynge God, and had fauour wyth all the people: And the Lorde added to the congregacion dayly suche as should be saued.

but and yf I tarye longe, that then thou mayeste yet haue knowledge howe thou oughtest to behaue thy selfe in the housse of God, whiche is the congregacyon of the lyuynge God, the pyllar & ground of trueth.

but al the weapens that are made agaynste the, shal not prospere. And as for all tunges, that shall resiste the in iudgement, thou shalte ouercome them, and condempne them. This is the herytage of the Lordes seruauntes, and the ryghtuousnes that they shal haue of me, sayeth the Lorde.

Thys is a greate secrete, but I speake betwene Christe and the congregation.

to the entente, that nowe vnto the rulers & powers in heauen myght be knowen (by the congregation) the manifolde wysedome of God,

Wisdome is an hye thyng, yea euen to the foole for he dar not open his mouth in the gate.

Haue the gates of death ben opened vnto the, or haste thou sene the dore of euerlasting treasure?

& the wal of the citie had .xij. foundacyons, & in them the names of the lambes twelue Apostles.

Saul had pleasure in hys death. And at the tyme ther was a great persecution agaynste the congregation, whiche was at Ierusalem, & they were all scattered abroade thorowout the regions of Iury & Samaria, excepte the Apostles.

Haue mercy vpon me (O Lord) considre the trouble that I am in amonge myne enemyes, thou that liftest me vp from the gates of death.

For yf a man can not rule hys owne house, howe shall he care for the congregacion of God.

And thou Capernaum, which art lyft vp vnto heauen, shall be brought doune to hell. For if the miracles which haue bene done in the, had be shewed in Zodome: they had remayned to this daye.

They that sate in the gate, spake agaynste me, & the dronkardes made songes vpon me.

that I wyll blesse the & multiplie thy seed as the starres of heauen and as the sande vpon the sea syde. And thy seed shall possesse the gates of hys enymies.

And the seuenth angell blewe, and there were made greate voyces in heauen, sayinge: the kyngdomes of thys worlde are oure Lordes and hys Christes, & he shall raygne for euer more.

Death is consumed into victory. Death wher is thy stynge? Hel wher is thy victory?

I thought I shulde haue gone to the gates of hell in my best age, and haue wanted the resydue of my yeares.

Vnto the lowly, he shalbe a sprete of iudgement, and vnto them that dryue away the enemyes from the gates he shalbe a spryte of strength.

Their soule abhorred all maner of meate, they were euen harde at deaths dore.

Then said the king: what semeth you best, that wil I do. And the Kynge stode vp the Gates syde, & all the people came out by hundredes and by thousandes.

Happy is the man, that hathe his quyuerful of them: they shal not be ashamed, when they speake with their enemyes in the gate.

Yea, many a tyme haue they fought gaainst me fro my youth vp, but thei haue not ouercome me.

I went downe to the botome af the hylles, and was barred in wyth earth for euer. But thou, O Lorde my God, haste brought vp my lyfe agayne out of corrupcyon.

As Iesus walked by the sea of Galile, he sawe two brethren: Symon which was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fysshers,

Whosoeuer heareth of me these sayinges and doethe the same, I wyll lyken hym vnto a wyse man which buylt hys housse on a rocke

Take hede therfore vnto youre selues, and to all the flocke wherof the holy ghoste hath made you ouersears, to rule the congregacyon of God, which he hath purchased wt hys bloude.
