And it came to passe the thyrde day which was Pharaos byrth daye, that he made a feast vnto all hys seruauntes. And he lyfted vp the head of the chefe buttelar and of the chefe baker amonge his seruauntes.
For Herode him selfe had sent forth, & had taken Ihon, and bounde him and cast him into pryson for Herodias sake, whiche was hys brother Philippes wyfe: For he had maried her.
And the kinge made a great feaste vnto all hys prynces and seruauntes (whyche feaste was because of Esther) and let the landes be in quyetnes, & gaue royall gyftes.
And kynge Herode hearde of hym (for his name was spred abroade) & sayde: Ihon Baptist is rysen agayne from death, and therefore myracles are wrought by him.
And in the .xv. yeare of the raygne of Tiberius the Emperoure, Pontius Pilate beiynge lieftenaunte of Iury, and Herode beyinge Tethrarch of Galyle, and hys brother Philippe Tethrarchin Iturea & in the region of Traconytes, and Lysanyas the Tetrarche of Abilene,
For of a trueth againste thy holy childe Iesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herode and also Poncius Pilate, with the Gentyls & the people of Israel, gathered them selues together,
