Be sober and watch, for your aduersary the deuyll as a roringe Lyon walketh aboute, sekinge whom he may deuour,

There were false prophetes among the people, euen as there shalbe false teachers amonge you, which priuilie shal bringe in damnable sectes, euen denyenge the Lorde that hath bought them and bringe vpon them selues swyft dampnacion,

And the enemy that soweth them is the deuell. The Haruest is the ende of the worlde. And the reapers be the Aungels.

and that because of incommers beynge false brethren which came in amonge other to spye out our lybertye which we haue in Christe Iesus, that they myghte brynge vs into bondage.

Notwithstandinge I haue a fewe thinges against the, that thou sufferest that woman Iesabel, which called her selfe a prophetisse, to teache and to deceyue my seruauntes to make them commit fornicacion, and to eate meates offered vp to Idols.

And deceiued them that dwelt on the earth by the meanes of those sygnes, which he had power to do in the syght of the beaste, saying to them that dwelt on the earth, that they should make an ymage vnto the beaste, whyche had the wounde of a swearde, and dyd lyue.

Another similitude put he forth vnto them saying: The kyngedom of heauen is lyke vnto a man whiche sowed good seede in hys felde.

When the blade was spronge vp, and had brought forth frute, then apeared the tares also.

The seruauntes came to the housholder, and sayde vnto hym: Sir sowedest not thou good seede in thy close? From whence then hath it tared?

But he sayde, nay, lest whyle ye go about to wede oute the tares, ye plucke vp also wyth them the wheat by the rotes.

Let both growe together tyl haruest come, & in tyme of haruest, I wyl saye to the reapers, gather ye fyrst the tares, & bynde theym in shewes too be brent: but gather the wheate into my barne.

And then she arose at midnight, and toke my sonne from my syde, whyle thyne handmayde slept and laide it in her bosome, and put her dead childe in my bosome.
