A good man out of the good treasure of his hert bringeth forth that which is good. And an euil man out of the euyll treasure of his herte bringeth forth that which is euyl. For of the aboundaunce of the herte, his mouth speaketh.

But those thynges, whiche procede out of the mouthe, come from the hert and they defyle the man.

Let no fylthy communication procede out of your mouthes: but that whiche is good to edefye wyth all, when nede is: that it maye haue fauoure with the hearers.

But the churle wyll be churlyshly mynded, & his hert wil worcke euil & playe the Ipocrite, & ymagyn abhominacyons against God, to make the hungry leane, & to withhold drincke from the thurstie.

Ye serpentes and generacion of vppers howe shoulde ye scape the damnacion of hell?

And therfore is equyte gone a syde, & ryghteousnes standeth farre of: truthe is fallen doune in the strete, and the thinge that is playne and open, maye not be shewed.

Which whet their tonges lyke a sweard, and shote wyth their veneymous words like as with arowes.

When he sawe many of the Phariseis & of the Saduces come to his baptisme, he sayd vnto them: O generacion of vipers, who hath taught you to fle from the vengaunce to come?

Then sayde he to the people that were come to be baptysed of him. O generacion of vipers, who hath taught you to flye from the wrath to come?

Noman regardeth righteousnes, and noman iudged truely. Euery man hopeth in vayne thinges, and ymagyneth disceyte, conceyueth werynesse, and bringeth forth euyl.

To the chaunter vpon Mahalath, an instruccyon of Dauid. The folysh bodyes saye in their hertes: Tush, there is no God. Corrupte are they & become abhomynable in their wyckednesse: there is not one, that doth good.

They haue deuysed myschefe, and communed amonge them selues, how they may laye snares: tush (saye they) who shall se them?

Kepe thyne herte wyth all dilygence, for there vpon hangeth lyfe.

The hert of the wyse enfourm his moueth, and amendeth the doctryne in his lyps.

Therfore shall the Lorde haue no pleasure in their yonge men, neyther fauoure their fatherlesse and wyddowes. For they are all together ypocrytes and wicked, and all their mouthes speake foly. After all this shall not the Lordes wrathe ceasse, but yet his hande shalbe stretched oute still.

neyther fylthynes, neyther folyshe talkinge, neither gestinge whiche are not comely: but rather geuinge of thankes.

for in many thinges we synne all. Yf a man synne not in worde, the same is a perfect man and able to tame al the bodye.
