Verely I say vnto you, amonge the children of women arose ther not a greater then Iohn the Baptist. Notwithstandinge he that is lesse in the kingdome of heauen, is greater then he.
For I saye vnto you: a greater Prophete then Ihon, amonge womens children is ther none. Neuerthelesse one that is lesse in the kingdome of God, is greater then he.
Whosoeuer therfore breaketh one of these lest commaundementes, & teacheth men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdome of heauen. But whosoeuer obserueth & teacheth, the same shal be called great in the kingdom of heauen.
I baptise you in water in token of repentaunce, but he that cometh after me is mightyer then I, whose shues I am not worthy to beare. He shal baptise you with the holy ghost and with fyre:
& sayde vnto them. Whosoeuer receyueth thys chylde in my name receyueth me. And whosoeuer receyueth me, receyueth hym that sent me. For he that is least among you all the same shalbe great.
In that day shal the Lord defende the citesins of Ierusalem: so that the weakest then amonge them shalbe as Dauid: & the house of Dauid shalbe lyke as Gods house, and as the Angel of the Lorde before them.
This spake he of the spirite which they that beleueth on him, shoulde receyue. For the holye ghost was not yet because that Iesus was not yet gloryfyed.
the mone shall shyne as the sunne, and the sunne shyne shalbe seuen folde, and haue as much shyne, as in seuen dayes besyde. In that daye shall the Lorde bynde vp the brosed sores of hys people, and heale theyr woundes.
Wherfore the Lorde God of Israel sayth: I sayde that thyne house and the house of thy father shulde haue walked before me for euer. But now the Lorde sayth: that be farre from me: for them that worshyppe me, I wyll worshyp, & they that despyse me, shalbe despised.
amonge whiche we also had our conuersation in tyme paste, in the lustes of oure fleshe, and fulfylled the wyll of the fleshe and of the mynde, and were naturallye the chyldren of wrath, euen as well as other.
but is nowe declared openlye by the appearynge of oure sauyoure Iesu Christ whiche hath put awaye deathe, & hath broughte lyfe and immortalitye to light thorow the Gospell,
For he shalbe greate in the syght of the Lorde, and shall neyther drinke wyne nor stronge drinke. And he shalbe fylled with the holy ghost, euen in his mothers wombe:
