And he called the people vnto hym, wyth his disciples also, and sayde vnto them: Whosoeuer will folowe me, let hym forsake hym self, and take vp his crosse and folow me.

And he that taketh not hys crosse & foloweth me, is not mete for me.

my shepe heare my voice, & I know them, and they folowe me,

Yf we be sonnes, we are also heyres, the heyres I meane of God, and heyres annexed with Christe yf so be that we suffer together, that we maye be glorified together.

And he sayed to them all, if anye man wyll come after me, let him denye hym selfe, & take vp his crosse dayly, and folowe me.

Mortifie therfore, youre members whiche are on the earth, fornicacion, vnclenes, vnnatural, lust euil concupiscence, and couetousnesse, which is worshippinge of Idolles,

But the thinges that were vauntage vnto me. I counted losse for Christes sake.

For as much as Christ hath suffred for vs in the fleshe, arme your selues lykewise wyth the same mynde: for he which suffereth in the fleshe ceaseth from synne,

God forbyd that I shoulde reioyce but in the crosse of oure Lorde Iesu Christe, wherby the worlde is crucifyed as touchyng me, and I as concernynge the worlde.

By our reioysinge, whyche I haue in Christe Iesu our Lorde, I dye dayly.

Thys we muste remember, that oure olde man is crucified wyth hym also, that the bodye of synne myght vtterlye be destroyed, that hence forthe we should not be seruauntes of synne.

So likewise none of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, can be my discyple.

for as muche as I am sure how that the tyme is at hande, that I must put of my tabernacle, euen as our Lord Iesus Christ hath shewed me.

but reioice in as much as ye are partakers of Christes passions, that when his glory appereth, ye maye be mery and glad.

& teacheth vs that we shoulde denye vngodlynes & worldly lustes, and that we shoulde lyue sobre mynded ryghtuouslye and Godly in this present worlde,

Nowe ioye I in my sufferinges which I suffer for you, and fulfyll that whiche is behinde of the passions of Christe in my fleshe for his bodies sake, which is the congregacion,

and strengthed the disciples soules exhortynge them to continue in the faith, affyrmyng that we must thorowe muche tribulacion enter into the kingdome of God.

When Iesus hearde that, he sayed vnto hym. Yet lackeste thou one thynge. Sell all that thou haste, and distrybute it vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, & folowe me.

stryue with your selues to enter in at the strayte gate: For manye I saye vnto you wyl seke to enter in, & shal not be able.

And as they came out, they found a man of Cyren named Symon: him they compelled to beare his crosse.

Feare none of those thynges, which thou shalt suffre. Behold, the deuil shal caste of you into pryson, to tempte you, and ye shal haue tribulacion .x. dayes. Be faythful vnto the death, & I wyl geue the a croune of life.

Let vs go forth therfore out of the tentes, and suffre rebuke with him.

We haue hearde say no doubte that there are some whiche walke amonge you inordinately and worke not at all, but are besye bodyes.

For though I be fre from all men, yet haue I made my selfe seruaunte vnto all men, that I myght winne the mo.

Wherfore yf meate hurte my brother, I wyll eate no fleshe, whyle the worlde standeth, because I wyll not hurte my brother.

& he bare his crosse, & went forth into a place called the place of dead mens sculles, which is named in Hebrewe Golgatha,

Then in the audience of all the people, he sayed vnto hys disciples,

Iesus behelde hym, and had a fauoure to him: and sayed vnto hym: one thynge is lackynge vnto the. Go and sell all that thou haste, and geue to the poore, and thou shalte haue treasure in heauen, and come and folowe me, and take vp thy crosse.

And he called all the people vnto hym, and sayde to them. Herken to me, euery one of you and vnderstande.
