Some fell on stony grounde, where it had not muche earth, & by & by sprang vp, because it had not depth of earthe,

A new herte also will I geue you, and a new sprete wyll I put into you: As for that stony herte, I wyll take it out of youre body, & geue you a fleshly herte.

Thei on the stones, are thei which when they heare, receiue the worde with ioye. But these haue no rotes, whiche for a whyle beleue, & in tyme of temptacion go awaye.

And some fell on the stone, and assone as it was spronge vp, it withered awaye because it lacked moistnes.

Who can runne with horses, or plow with oxen vpon the herde rockes of stone? For why? ye haue turned true iudgement into bytternesse, & the frute of ryghtuousnesse into worm wood:

And I wil geue you one herte, and I wyll plante a newe sprete wythin youre bowels. That stony herte wyll I take oute of youre body, & geue you a fleshy herte:

But he that was sowen in the stony grounde, is he which heareth the worde of God, and anone with ioye receyueth it,

that they myght sowe vnto righteousnes, and reape the frutes of weldoynge that they might plowe vp their fresh lande, & seke the Lorde, tyll he came, and learned them ryghteousnes.

And it fortuned as he sowed, that some fell by the waye syde, & the fowles of the ayre came & deuoured it vp.

but assone as the sonne was vp it caught heath, and because it had not roting widdred awaye.
