And when the Scrybes and pharyses sawe hym eate wyth Publicans and synners, they sayde vnto hys discyples: howe is it that he eateth and drinketh with Publicans and synners?
The Pharyse stode and prayed thus with hym selfe: God I thanke the, that I am not as other men are, extorsioners, vniust, aduouterers, or as this publican,
And there arose a great crye, and the Scrybes whiche were of the Phariseys parte arose and stroue, saiyng: we fynde none euyll in thys man. Thoughe a spirite or an angell haue appeared to hym, let vs not stryue agaynst God.
Yf thou comest nye them, they saye, touch me not, for I am holyer then thou. All these men when I am angry, shalbe turned to smoke and fyre, that shall burne for euer.
