Matthew's Bible 1537

When Iesus was rysen the morowe after the Saboth daye, he appeared fyrst to Marye Magdalen, out of whome he cast seuen deuils.

And also certaine women, which were healed of euyll spretes and infyrmytyes: Marye called Magdalene, out of whom went seuen deuyls,

and sawe two angels in whyte sittynge, the one at the heade, & the other at the fete, where they had layde the bodye of Iesus.

And Mary Magdalen & Marye Ioses behelde where he was layed.

It was Mary Magdalene, and Ioanna, and Mary Iacobi, and other that were with them which tolde these thinges vnto the Apostles,

Among which was Marye Magdalena and Marye the mother of Iames & Ioses, and the mother of Zebedes children.

Ther were also women a good waye of beholdyng hym: among whom was Mary Magdalen, and Marye the mother of Iames the lytle, and of Ioses, & Mary Salome:

I was in the spirite on a sondaye, and hearde behynde me a great voyce, as it had bene of a trompe,

Vpon some sonday let euerye one of you put a syde at home, and laye vp whatsoeuer he thinketh meate that there be no gatheringes when I come.

And on the morowe after the saboth day the disciples came together for to breake bread and Paule preached vnto them (readye to departe on the morowe) and contynued the preachynge vnto midnyght.

And they wente oute quickly, and fled from the sepulchre. For they trembled and were amased. Neyther sayed they anye thynge to anye man, for they were afrayed.

And she went and tolde her husbande sayinge: thus and thus sayth the maide that is out of the lande of Israel.
