Ioseph of Arimathia a noble Councelloure which also loked for the kyngdome of God, came and went in boldly vnto Pylate, & begged the bodye of Iesu.

And the same came forth that same houre and praysed the Lorde and spake of him to all that loked for redempcion in Ierusalem.

And beholde ther was a man in Hierusalem whose name was Symeon. And the same man was iuste and feared God, and longed for the consolacion of Israel and the holye ghost was in him.

and did not consente to the counsell and dede of them which was of Aramathia, a citye of the Iewes: which same also waited for the kingdome of God:

And many of them beleued: also of worshipfull women which were Grekes, and of men not a feawe.

After that Ioseph of Arimathia (whiche was a disciple of Iesus, but secretely for feare of the Iewes) besought Pylate that he myght take doune the bodye of Iesus. And Pylate gaue him licence.

When the euen was come, there came a riche man of Aramathia named Ioseph, which same also was Iesus disciple.

In so much that many of the brethren in the Lorde are boldened thorowe my boundes, & dare more largely speake the worde without feare.

But the, Iewes moued the worshypfull and honorable women, & the chiefe men of the citie, and raysed persecucion agaynste Paule and Barnabas, & expelled them out of theyr costes.

And Peter folowed him a great waye of euen into the pallaice of the hye priest, and sat with the seruauntes, and warmed hym self at the fyre.

So the laste shalbe firste, and the first shalbe laste. For many are called, and few be chosen.

Many that are firste shall be last, and the last shalbe the first.

And Pylate merueyled that he was already deade, and called vnto hym the Centurion, and axed of hym, whether he had bene anye whyle deade.

And beholde there was a man named Ioseph, a counselloure, and was a good man and a iuste,
