He shall be payned & troubled, and shal not open his mouth. He shalbe led as a shepe to be slayne, yet shall he be as styll as a lambe before the shearer, and not open hys mouthe.

And from thence forth sought Pylate meanes to louse him: but the Iewes cryed, saiynge: yf thou let hym go, thou arte not Cesars frende. For whosoeuer maketh hym selfe a kynge, is agaynst Cesar.

Iesus yet aunswered neuer a worde, so that Pylate meruayled.

and when he was accused of the chief priestes & elders he answered nothynge.

And Pylate axed hym: arte thou the kynge of the Iewes? And he aunswered and sayde vnto hym: thou sayest it.

Wherfore Pylate axeth hym agayne, saying: Answerest thou nothyng? beholde how manye thinges they laye vnto thy charge:

I am become as a man that heareth not: and that can make no resistaunce wyth hys mouth.
