For it myght haue bene solde for more then thre hundred pence, & bene geuen vnto the poore. And they grudged agaynste her.

Some of them thought, because Iudas had the bagge, that Iesus had sayed vnto hym, bye those thinges that we haue nede of agaynst the feast: or that he shoulde geue some thyng to the poore.

These are murmurers, complayners, walkyng after theyr owne iustes, whose mouthes speake proud thinges. They haue men in great reuerence because of vauntage.

Do al thinge wythout murmuringe and disputynge,

Let hym that stole, steale no more, but let hym rather laboure wyth his handes some good thynge, that he maye haue to geue vnto hym that nedeth.

Neyther murmure ye as some of them murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Iesus aunswered and saide vnto them. Murmure not amonge your selues.

Philip aunswered him, two hondred peny worth of bread are not sufficient for them, that euerye man haue a litel.

And the Pharises & Scribes murmured saiyng. He receyued to hys company synners, and eateth with them.

And when they had receyued it, they murmured agaynst the good man of the house

And the sayd seruaunt went out & found one of hys felowes, which ought him an hundred pence, & layed handes on him, & toke hym by the throote sayinge: paye me that thou owest.

But murmured in their tentes, and herkened not vnto the voyce of the Lord.

and murmured in youre tentes and sayde: because the Lord hateth vs, therfore he hath broughte vs out of the lande of Egypte, to delyuer vs into the handes of the Amorites and to destroye vs.

And there were some that were not content in them selues, and sayd: what neded this waste of oyntment?

And Iesus sayde: let her be in reste, why troubled ye her? she hath done a good worke on me.

Thys oyntment myght haue bene wel solde, and geuen to the poore.
