And when the tyme was come, he sente to the tenauntes a seruaunte, that he myghte receyue of the tenauntes of the frute of the vyneyarde.

God in tyme paste diuerselye and manye wayes, spake vnto the fathers by Prophetes,

And when the tyme was come, he sente a seruaunt to hys tenauntes that they shoulde geue hym of the fruytes of the vyneyarde. And the tenauntes dyd beate hym, & sent him awaye empty.

But he that knewe not, & yet dyd commytte thynges worthye of strypes, shalbe beaten with fewe stripes. For vnto whome muche is geuen, of him shalbe muche requyred. And to whom men muche committe, the more of hym will they axe.

And when the tyme of the frute drewe neare, he sente hys seruauntes to the husbandmen to receyue the fruytes of it.

Are not these the wordes which the Lord spake by his prophetes afore tyme, when Ierusalem was yet inhabited & welthy, she and the cities round aboute her: when there dwelt men, both toward the south and in the playne countreyes?

Wo is me: I am become as one, that goeth a gleanynge in the haruest. There are no mo grapes to eate, yet wolde I fayne (with all my herte) haue of the best fruyte.

How be it, I sent vnto them my seruauntes al the prophetes: I rose vp earlye, I sent vnto them, and gaue them warninge: O do no such abhominable thinges, & thinges that I hate.

Yea, I haue sent my seruauntes, al the prophetes vnto you, I rose vp early, and sent you worde, sayinge: O turne you, euery man from his wicked waye: amende your lyues, and go not after straunge Goddes, to worshyppe them, that ye may contynue in the land which I haue geuen vnto you & your fathers but ye would neither heare me, nor folow me.

Suche a man is lyke a tree planted by the watersyde, that bringeth forthe hys frute in due season. His leaues shall not fall af, & loke whatsoeuer he doth, it shall prospere.

whiche thou hast commaunded by thy seruauntes the Prophetes, and sayde: The lande vnto whiche ye go to possesse, it is an vncleane land thorow the fylthynes of the people of the landes, in their abhominacyons, wherwyth they haue made it ful of vnclennes on euery syde.

And the Lord God of theyr fathers sent to them by his messengers, sendynge them be tymes: for he had compassyon on hys people & on his dwellynge place.

And the Lorde testifyed to Israel & to Iuda, by all the Prophetes & by al the sears sayinge: Turne from youre wicked wayes & kepe my commaundementes & myne ordinaunces accordynge to all the lawes which I commaunded youre fathers, & as I sente to you by my seruauntes the prophetes.

And he began to speake vnto them in simylitudes. A certayne man planted a vyneyarde, and compaste it wyth an hedge, and ordeyned a wyne presse, & buylde a tower in it. And let it oute to hyre vnto housband men, & went into a straunge countreye.

And they caughte hym, and sent him awaye emptye.
